I am a first-time home buyer; and a foreign national. I am a research faculty at a university, working and living in Arlington, VA. As I was looking for houses, I also started looking for lenders. I contacted multiple lenders and found the process very confusing for a starter. I decided to get an offer from my bank (Bank of America) as well, since I have been a customer for many years, and I wanted to compare the options. By chance, I contacted Aurelie Einhorn-Ruparel (NMLS ID: 1562527) in the Courthouse office. Aurelie has been great from the beginning, she took her time to explain everything about the loans very clearly. She understood everything I was confused about, and why. She didn't make me feel bad about asking 'dumb' questions. Not only she was informative, she was also very friendly. She found the options that were best for me; I felt that she is on my side doing things in my favor. She found the best rates for me, when I contacted other lenders, they told me that they couldn't match her offer and that I should take her offer (great evidence that she found the best rates). More importantly, she made sure that everything was on track and completed 2 weeks before the closing (even though there was a Christmas break during the underwriting process, she worked full time on my file). She followed up with me regularly. Overall, she made the process run very smoothly, I never had to worry. She also attended my closing. I will definitely keep in touch with her; and if I decide (and have the funds) to buy another property, she would be the only person I would go to.
